Magazine Cover Reviews -Hoesay

http://jackiesphotojournalismblog.blogspot.com

1. The name of the magazine is Sunkist and Jackie made it.

2. I really like the color scheme used in the magazine and how everything in it caught my eyes and nothing was too small for the viewer to see.

3. A very minor improvement on the magazine cover would be increasing slightly the date right under the title and increasing the price above the barcode.

4. I picked this cover because the colors caught my eyes and also hot weather is coming up soon and the topics in the cover were appropriate.

5. The barcode is an appropriate size and placed properly.

6. Although it caught my eye I wouldn't pick this up at Barnes and Nobles simply because the topics on the magazine don't really suit me. I can't wear a bikini so it'd be pointless, however, looking at this from a girl's perspective I would be interested in buying it.

7. This is a self portrait.

1. The name of the magazine is 'cursiveclub' by Bella.

2. I like not only the color scheme but the way this was photographed. Having the subject in focus and the background blurred leaving the viewer to only see what was important, the lighting is perfect and overall the environment fits accordingly.

3. One very very minor detail that is missing is the USD next to the price, which again, isn't a big deal but I couldn't find anything else to critique you one.

4. I chose this magazine because it did catch my eye and everything about it was perfect.

5. The barcode is proportional and put in the right place as well.

6. It seems rather interesting so if I were to see this at Barnes and Nobles I would buy it, I like the price too.

7. Finally, this is a portrait

1. The name of the city is KittyKat'sClaw by Becca

2. I like all animal's so this caught my attention because cat.

3. One improvement this magian could use is maybe a better angle, it kind of looks slanted and a little blurry. Also the headlines on the side that are white get kind of lost in front of the white wall.

4. I chose this magazine because like I said before I like animals and this would be something I'd be interested in getting.

5. The barcode is in proportion and also in the right place.

6. I would buy this if it were at Barnes and Nobles.

7. Finally, this is a portrait.

Prompt Photo Shoot Peer Review -Hoesay

http://alexasphotojournalism.blogspot.com

1. My favorite photo would have to be "Pause" it's cropped really well and the lighting is perfect.
2. My least favorite photo would be "Footprints" due to the way it's cropped. Part of it is cut out from the picture, good idea though and it's evident what the point of the photograph was.
3. Overall the ideas were good and up to par with the assignment. Along with the rules of photography, simplistic, rule of thirds, and filling the frame.
4. An area where there could be improvement would be execution in one of the picture like Footprints, other than that nothing else.
5. The best prompt they portrayed was "Pause" like I said before they executed it perfectly and overall was a great picture. It stands out with the lighting especially.
6. The prompt they did least successful was footprints, I think if the cropping had been better it would've been a different perspective, backing up a little or a totally different angle.

Magazine Covers -Hoesay

Welcome Back -Hoesay

It's an amazing shot. It captures African wildlife perfectly, sort of isolated and lost. Not much is left with this 6th mass extinction and it's nice to see how animals no matter what their condition is they strive to continue.

Space and earth meet. The tree is dead center of the universe, or so it looks like that. Nothing distracts from the main point of the picture. The white cloud on the right kind of looks like ghosts just floating in outer space.

The man in white hanging off the bike after the collision is paused in time right before he hits the ground. It's impressive how the shutter speed was set up to catch that moment. More importantly the timing of the photographer, I'm sure it happened in about a split second.

The song of 2015 had to be Jukebox Joints by A$AP Rocky, although it wasn't one of the top 40 it was my personal favorite.

I can safely say I didn't go to the movie theatre at all during 2015.

The most important story of 2015 is the rising amount of numbers of black male fatalities. All of this started in 2013 with Trayvon Martin and seemingly gets worse each time allowing racist killers off the hook and back out into the streets. Easily they can get away with killing minorities, hispanics, Asians, blacks, etc.

None of the options given in the 8 finalists for most important people really matter.

Recently dropping the single named Facts. Ye goes after multibillion dollar company Nike. Claiming they have their workers in factories as slaves and gave LeBron James 500M to 1B dollars just so he wouldn't leave their company. The feud between Ye and Nike continues.
